Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish because like the butterfly we all face change which can be transformative.

 

 

I have 21 years experience of using cognitive behavioural, solution focused and motivational coaching to facilitate change. I work with a diverse range of clients, to achieve goals and develop a toolkit of skills.

 

 

 

Mariposa Coaching was founded in 2015 with a portfolio of 20 years coaching and training for the National Probation Service facilitating 1600 workshops, training staff and magistrates, working with 40 clients a week and accredited facilitator of over 10 CBT based programmes.  My areas of specialism included addressing substance related offending, domestic abuse, racially motivated offending, anger management, emotional management and enhanced thinking skills. Training also included delivery of managing aggression and pro social modelling for staff.   I acquired certification at the Centre for Coaching, London in Stress Management and Performance Coaching to further consolidate my knowledge of coaching psychology approaches.

I have delivered  in house training for well known engineering companies, such as Altran UK and Rolls Royce, in Bristol in stress management and worklife balance.  I deliver post graduate training for Educational Advisors who are medical consultants  in coaching and mentoring skills so they can coach and mentor their staff as part of their non clinical training for medical education for the Severn Deanery NHS Trust, now NHS England.  Other training has included work life balance, stress management, leadership, wellbeing to thrive, interpersonal skills and influencing skills coaching for staff retention and performance.    I am particularly passionate about delivering talks and coaching to staff within companies to enhance effective team communication and influencing skills for leadership

My training portfolio includes Rolls Royce, Ecosurety, National Foundation for Educational Research,  SWDDF Leadership Programme and South West Education England. I am also a coach for Meningitis Now. 

As part of the wellbeing agenda I have provided talks for Healthy City Bristol Week in 2015 and 2016 and Hamilton House Wellbeing Festival in 2016.  My practice is part of the 'Go Green Action Plan' to make a positive contribution to the creation of a sustainable city. I have a passion for supporting the wellbeing agenda and established and manage the Bristol and Bath Wellbeing Group on Linkedin and facebook. I am a prolific writer of blogs and also contribute to press activity and write articles for Life Coach Directory  and Happiful magazine. 

My coachees include young people who need to feel more confident at school, business owners wishing to enhance leadership and assertiveness skills, couples wishing to increase their communicaton skills within the relationship,  consultants to focus on prioritising their workload, increasing communication skills with staff  interaction, and managers addressing procrastination  and increasing presentation skills.

 

My continuous professional development has included  training with Adams Psychology Services in 'Using Coaching to Develop Classroom Practice', 'Self-Limiting Beliefs: how we can recognise, manage and transform them in young people, ourselves and each other' and 'Developing others through the application of coaching psychology: enhancing performance, development and wellbeing' and 'Coaching for resilience'.  You can find out more about me on linkedin.

 

I am a Member of the Association for Coaching, affiliate member of The International Society for Coaching Psychology and associate member of the Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I adhere to the AC code of ethics and good practice. I am a coaching at work list member and am listed in the life coach directory.  I attend consultancy with my own coach to maintain my wellbeing and support best practice.

I have professional liability insurance which has been specifically designed for coaching, mentoring and training purposes, DBS and am police level 2 vetted.

My qualifications include BA Hons, Level 5 Certificate in Stress Management and Performance Coaching from the Centre for Stress Management and Centre for Coaching London. This included  have Primary Certificates in Stress Management, Performance Coaching  and Problem Focused Counselling, Coaching and Training; British Psychological Society and The International Society for Coaching Psychology approved. I hold a PTLLS trainer qualification.  I have experience in a wide variety of coaching and programme delivery from thinking skills, emotional management, relationship skills, managing conflict, resilience and self efficacy through to dementia friendly and diversity awareness.

I work on an emotional, deep level and convert this into practical, actionable steps that individuals and professionals can relate to.  We are all unique and whether a business or an individual my passion is helping you to recognise your strengths and helping you to where you want to go in working or personal life.
